Privacy notice
Which data Cucinario collects, why, where they are stored and how you can delete them.

This page explains directly which data Cucinario processes. It is written to be read, not to be filed.
In short: your recipes are yours, and we use them for one thing only, showing them to you.
Three things, before anything else
- We do not sell your data. Not to anyone, for any purpose.
- We do not show advertising. No banners, no ad networks, no profile built to target you.
- Your data is kept safe. It is encrypted while it travels and encrypted where it sits, only the people who need it to run the service can reach it, and it lives with the providers listed further down this page and nowhere else.

What data we collect
The full list, in plain words.
- Your email address. Only in two cases: if you sign in with Apple or Google and authorize sharing it, and if you sign up for the waiting list on this website. Signing in also gives us an identifier for your account. We never receive a password, not from you and not from Apple or Google.
- Camera and photos. Used only when you choose to import a recipe from a photo. We read nothing else from your photo library, there is no access in the background, and you can refuse the permission: the rest of the app carries on working.
- Usage events. Which screens you open and which features you use, on this device, tied to an identifier the app generates itself. It is not Apple's advertising identifier and it is not tied to your name. They go to Mixpanel, on European servers.
- Crash reports. When the app breaks we get the technical detail of the crash, through Sentry, with the content of your recipes stripped out.
- Imported recipes. The links you share or the photos you pick, and the recipe that comes out of them. They serve to create and show you the recipe, and nothing else.
- Subscription status. Whether you have an active plan and which one. Payment happens in the App Store or Google Play: your card details never reach us.
- Push notification token. Only if you allow notifications, so we can tell you when an import you started is finished. Turn notifications off and the token goes with them.
- Waiting list details from the website. Your email address and the language you chose. We also store an encrypted, non-reversible version of your IP address, used only to limit form abuse: the plain IP address is never saved.
We do not collect your contacts and we do not collect your location. The photo you pick for an import is sent to be read and then discarded, that original image never stays on our servers. The recipe's picture, the one shown on the card, is a separate file: we keep it the same way we keep the rest of your recipe, so it can sync to your other devices.

Where they are stored
Your account, your recipes and your files are stored on infrastructure located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
Transfers outside the European Union
To derive a recipe from a video or a photo, the content necessary for extraction is sent to a provider of automatic language processing whose servers may be located in the United States.
In practice:
- Only what is necessary for the extraction is transmitted: the text, the audio and the frames of the content you chose to import.
- Your name, your email or your account identifier are not transmitted.
- The content is not used to train artificial intelligence models.
- The transfer is carried out on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
If you prefer not to use this feature, you can enter recipes manually: manual entry does not involve any transfer.
How long
- Waiting list email: until the launch, then deleted within six months or sooner if you request it.
- Recipes and account: as long as you keep the account. When the account is deleted the data are removed within 30 days.
- Technical data: maximum 14 days.
- Push notification token: kept while notifications stay on; removed if you turn them off or delete your account.
- Subscription status: kept while you have an account, removed with it.
Who we share data with
Only the providers needed to run the service. Each processes data on our behalf, under contract, and none may use it for their own purposes.

Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your card details.
We do not sell your data to anyone and we do not do targeted advertising.
Your rights
You can request at any time to access your data, correct them or export them, and you can withdraw consent. To delete them, the fastest way is in the app: Settings → Delete my data — no need to write to anyone or wait. For anything else, or if you'd rather, write to support@cucinario.app: we respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country.
Cucinario ("we", "our", "us") is the data controller for everything described here. It is run by one independent developer, whose full name and contact details are in the Legal notice, as the law requires.
Cookies
The site does not use profiling cookies and has no advertising tracking tools. For this reason you will not find a cookie banner: there is no need for one.
Changes
If we change anything substantial we update the date at the top of this page and, for relevant changes, we notify you in the app.
